Guild of Aviation Artists 2013 Exhibition.

One of our students, Michael Chapman, has had a picture accepted by the Guild of Aviation Artists  for their 2013 Exhibition. The painting is called ‘Tail up Tutor’, and shows an Avro Tutor taking off, tail off the ground, approaching the point of lift off. Avro Tutors were used by the RAF in the 1930’s as a training aircraft for pilots.

The exhibition is held in the Mall Galleries, from 22nd to 28 July 2013. This year the exhibition was opened by Air Chief Marshal Sir John Allison KCB CBE RAF (Retd).  Further information from the GAvA web site at http://www.gava.org.uk/

Although submissions from non-GAvA members are accepted, most are from members. Entries have to pass a selection procedure in front of a panel of 5 judges who vote for acceptance/rejection independently. This was the first time Michael has entered, having been a member of the GAvA for 4 years.

Congratulations to Michael on his tremendous success!
