Dr Ellie Pridgeon has been teaching history of art and architecture at the University of Leicester since 2002. She completed her PhD in 2010, which focussed on medieval wall paintings in Leicestershire, Rutland and beyond. She has since published widely in the field:
Ellie is currently senior archivist and researcher on the Post-Reformation Wall Painting Project, the first survey to catalogue post-1559 wall paintings in English churches. We are looking to publish the extensive and intriguing material relating to Leicestershire in the very near future:
Ellie is a professional archivist, and is director of the archives consultancy firm Consultant Archivist Ltd:
She has worked at a number of leading UK institutions, including the University of Bristol, St Paul’s Cathedral (London), the Science Museum. She also holds a number of positions in the Archives and Records Association (ARA), including editor of ARC Magazine.
Ellie is a council member of the Church Monuments Society, and co-chair of HistoryLabPlus, a UK network supporting early careers historians and independent researchers through providing training and networking opportunities.
